Washington State Grapples with Medical Marijuana Regulations

On January 22, 2015 the Washington state Senate Committee on Healthcare heard testimony on SB 5052, the Cannabis Patient Protection Act.  The bill is one of 2 introduced this session meant to align the currently unregulated medical marijuana system and the highly regulated recreational system.  Both bills are similar in intent, but a key difference between SB 5052 and SB 5519 is that 5519 allows for the sale of smokable cannabis through medical dispensaries and SB 5052 does not.  Below are discrete audio clips from the Washington state Senate Committee on Healthcare hearing on the Cannabis Patient Protection Act (SB5052)  …
